PMBoK® organizes project processes into five primary process groups:
- Initiating
- Planning
- Executing
- Controlling
- Closing.
These are also known as the Project Management Life Cycle. PMBoK® defines each of these five primary process groups by cross-referencing them against nine PMBoK® knowledge areas:
- Project Integration Management
- Project Scope Management
- Project Time Management
- Project Cost Management
- Project Quality Management
- Project Human Resource Management
- Project Communications Management
- Project Risk Management
- Project Procurement Management
FTI is a strong supporter of the PMBoK® approach to project management. FTI program and project managers either hold the PMP certification or have equivalent experience allowing them to deliver PMBoK®-defined management performance on our client engagements.
